RULES, REGULATIONS & REGISTRATION

Thank you for your interest in participating in the SoCAL Taco Fest Chihuahua Beauty Pageant 2026.

Please carefully review the Rules, Regulations, and Registration Information below. By completing the Registration Form and submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by all terms contained herein.

SoCAL Taco Fest reserves the right to modify rules, schedules, or event details at any time and to refuse or revoke participation at its sole discretion.

REGISTRATION & ACCEPTANCE

• Entry is limited. Applications may close at any time once capacity is reached.
• Submission of registration does not guarantee acceptance.
• SoCAL Taco Fest reserves the right to decline any entry.

PARTICIPATION FEE

$25 per dog, per day

• Only one dog may compete per registered participant per day.
• A dog and/or costume may not be used for both days of competition.
• Payment is due immediately upon registration to secure your spot.
• Registration is not complete until payment is received.
• Fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by the organizers.

BEAUTY PAGEANT DETAILS

Dates: May 2 & 3, 2026
Approximate Start Time: 2:00 PM (subject to change)

Final event timing and check-in details will be emailed approximately one week prior to the festival.

ELIGIBILITY

• Open to Chihuahua and Chihuahua mix-breed dogs only.
• No weight classes.
• Dogs must be non-aggressive toward humans and other animals.
• Any dog displaying aggressive behavior will be immediately disqualified without refund.
• All dogs must have current vaccinations as required by the City of San Diego and applicable law. Proof may be requested.

COMPETITION RULES

• There are no costume restrictions — creativity is encouraged.
• Participants must maintain control of their dog at all times.
• Dogs must remain leashed unless otherwise directed by event staff.
• Judges’ decisions are final.
• Winner will be determined by crowd applause, as measured and determined solely by the official Pageant Judge.

Prizes:
• Best in Show: Trophy
• Runners-up: Prize package

Prizes have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged.

EVENT CONDUCT & REMOVAL

SoCAL Taco Fest, SeaWorld, and Westward Entertainment reserve the right to remove any participant or dog for unsafe behavior, rule violations, disruption, or conduct deemed inappropriate, with no refund.

LIABILITY WAIVER & RELEASE

By participating in the Chihuahua Beauty Pageant (the “Event”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Event.

2. I release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless SoCAL Taco Fest, SeaWorld San Diego, Local Media San Diego, Westward Entertainment, their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, sponsors, vendors, and representatives from any and all claims arising out of participation in the Event.

3. I accept full responsibility for the supervision, behavior, and care of my dog at all times.

4. I certify that my dog’s vaccinations are current, my dog is in good health, free of contagious disease, and not aggressive toward people or other animals.

5. I understand that this Event is for entertainment purposes only and that no guarantees are made regarding prizes or outcomes.

6. I grant SoCAL Taco Fest, SeaWorld, Local Media San Diego, and Westward Entertainment the irrevocable right to photograph, film, and record me and/or my dog for promotional use without compensation.

7. I understand and agree that all decisions made by event organizers and judges are final.

By electronically signing and submitting the registration form, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to all Rules, Regulations, and this Liability Waiver.
